Tourism is a vital industry to North Texas.  Not only does it provide economic benefit to communities by bringing in new sources of revenue but it also creates jobs within the community.

Tourism Impacts in DFW/North Texas:

  • Tourism accounts for more than 20 million visitors each year
  • Tourism produces an economic impact of $19.5 billion.  The DFW/North Texas region represents over one-fourth of the state's tourism spending of $65.7 billion*.
  • Tourism in our region creates over 172,000 jobs with an annual payroll of $7.4 billion*.
  • Travel spending in Texas region directly supports over 600,000 jobs.
  • Tourism in the DFW/North Texas area contributed over $1 billion in local and state taxes*.  Without the travel-generated tax revenue of $8.5 billion, each household in Texas would have to pay $900 more in local, state and federal taxes*.
